Objectives: The South Sudan Women Social and Economic Empowerment Project (SSWEEP) aims to empower women and adolescent girls by reducing barriers to starting and scaling businesses and providing support for gender-based violence (GBV) survivors. Specific objectives include the construction and expansion of Women Empowerment Community Centres (WECCs) across all South Sudan states, offering integrated services such as skills training, legal, financial, and psychosocial support under one roof. Additionally, the project seeks to facilitate access to finance and market opportunities for women entrepreneurs, train women in business management and vocational skills, and improve institutional capacities for women's empowerment. With an emphasis on community-based approaches, SSWEEP targets over 91,000 direct female beneficiaries and involves mechanisms to foster male mentoring and positive social norms.
