SPECIFIC PROCUREMENT NOTICE FOR A PUBLIC OUTREACH SUPPORT CONSULTANT

 MCAN/COM/RCQ/4A09011(a)

 The Republic of Namibia has signed a grant funding agreement, the Millennium Challenge Account (MCA) Namibia Compact, of US$304.5 million with the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), an Agency of the United States Government, to enable the Government of Namibia to implement the MCA Namibia Programme and achieve the objectives of the Compact.  MCA Namibia, a programme implementation unit of the National Planning Commission, will use a portion of the grant funding for the acquisition of Goods, Works, and Services.

The purpose of this Specific Procurement Notice (SPN) is to alert interested suitably qualified candidates that a Request for Candidate’s Qualifications (RCQ) for a Public Outreach Support Consultant will be posted on the MCA Namibia website www.mcanamibia.org, on 04 July 2011.  Eligible candidates are encouraged to submit their qualifications in response to the above RCQ to MCA Namibia.

 The primary objective of this consultancy is for the consultant/s:

    Assist the office of the Public Outreach Manager in the execution of the function of the office as would be determined from time to time.

 The successful candidate shall at a minimum fulfillthe following experience and qualifications requirements:

    Diploma or degree in Media Studies with a specialization in Public Relations or Communication;;
    Minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience in Public Relations and/or corporate communications;
    Experience in fostering media relations with different stakeholders;
    Experience in editing of publications/corporate materials.
    Experience in digital photography will be an added advantage
