This project has been developed by Addis Ababa University College of Commerce. The tender for this project expired on 24 September 2010. 

Nuffic has awarded this tender to the Development Research Institute (IVO) of Tilburg University, which has formed a consortium with Fontys Business School and North-West University (South Africa).

Project description

This project will contribute to the overall expansion of the higher education system by supporting the development of male and female faculty staff and qualitative training provision and research in the field of Business and Economics and Taxation.

The project focuses on faculty development at MA/MSc and PhD levels, to satisfy the national demand for public service provision and private sector development.

In addition, this project aims to enhance the research capacities of graduate programmes so that they contribute better to business development of the country, and to enhance institutional capacity to deliver relevant graduate curricula development and so that delivery will be enhanced.

Creating and maintaining linkages with the business community, attention for gender issues and creating opportunities for women to decrease gender imbalances are other important objectives of this project.
