Project description

This project will assist Agarfa A-TVET to develop its training offer and maintain operational linkages with the labour market active in the field of Small Scale and Micro Irrigation. This will contribute to better agricultural production, by enhanced small-scale irrigation (SSI) schemes and micro-irrigation (MI) service delivery the livelihoods of men and women will be improved.

The project aims to develop the college in such a way that the graduates are able to provide up-to-date technical and organisational advice to villages involved in the design, construction, operations, management and repair of SSI schemes and MI. Specifically, the project seeks to enhance gender sensitive management knowledge and skills of senior academic, financial and administrative staff and by new systems and structures. Therefore, enhanced leadership and management capacities and gender mainstreaming are essential components of this project.

The project will also enhance the staff capacities so that they will be able to apply innovative teaching and learning materials and approaches. Applied research at SSI implementation level is an asset for future curriculum and TTLM review. The project will enhance the college’s capacity to establish/improve this capacity. The above components will go hand in hand with the upgrading of a number of facilities necessary for their achievement.
