Objective and Purpose of the Assignment

   

The Pacific Private Sector Development Initiative (PSDI) is a regional technical assistance facility co-financed by the Governments of Australia, New Zealand, and the Asian Development Bank. Since 2006, PSDI has been working with ADB’s 14 Pacific Developing Member Countries to improve the enabling environment for business and support inclusive, private sector–led economic growth. PSDI is currently being supported under TA 8378-REG: Pacific Private Sector Development Initiative, Phase III, which was approved on 6 June 2013 for $30.5 million. Additional financing of $8.08 million was approved on 30 June 2015. PSDI is developing a pilot program, Economic Empowerment of Women Pilot on Strengthening the Supply Chain in Fisheries in Papua New Guinea. The pilot program is aimed at economically empowering women by providing skills training and mentoring to women to enable them to engage in business.
