(N) Bangladesh Sustainable Coastal and Marine Fisheries

Stimulate sustainable economic growth and poverty reduction from improved management of Bangladesh’s aquatic resources. To this end, the project will invest in (1) developing a policy framework to govern the sustainable use (including monitoring, control and surveillance) of coastal and marine fisheries resources; (2) enabling policy and institutional environment for new technology adoption and incentive-based systems for greater economic efficiency and sustainability along the entire fisheries value chain, from processing to export; and (3) adapting existing structures (such as the Fisher ID Card) to link at scale the improvement of livelihood opportunities and food security to behavioral changes geared towards more sustainable resource utilization.
