The Government of Mozambique has applied for financing from the World Bank towards the cost of development of the Water Supply and Institutional Support Project II (WASIS II), and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the Consultancy Services for the Design Check and Supervision of Water Supply Network in Beira and Dondo.
The services include:
*Reviewing and approval of the Contractor’s design, drawings and other proposals for the works and in accordance with the Project environmental and social safeguard documents and local legislation;
*Supervision of the construction, commissioning and hand-over of the Distribution Network Schemes (around 120 kms) in accordance with the specifications and the drawings (prepared by the Contractor and approved by the Supervision Consultant) and in accordance with the safeguard documents and local legislation.
The Fundo de Investimento e Património do Abastecimento de Água (FIPAG) as implementing agency of the Government of Mozambique, now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions and implementation of projects in accordance with environmental and social safeguard’s framework, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.).
The Consultant shall be a reputable Civil Engineering Consultancy firm with at least 10 years experience in water engineering, including design and supervision of Distribution Network for Urban Water Supply Systems. Specific experience in design check is necessary. The Consultant should be fully conversant with World Bank procurement documents, FIDIC Conditions of Contract and construction of projects in developing countries.
The attention of interested Consultants is drawn to paragraph 1.9 of the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits and Grants by World Bank Borrowers, dated January 2011, revised July 2014 (“Consultant Guidelines”), setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.
A Consultant will be selected in accordance with the Quality and Cost Based Selection set out in the Consultant Guidelines.

Expressions of Interest must be delivered, in English to the address below by 14:30 hours on 6th February 2017.
