The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) anticipates the award of a contract for four years and three months to implement the Democracy and Governance (DG) Program of USAID/Guyana. The DG Program focuses on three outcomes or intermediate results: IR 1 - Increasing Citizen Participation in Policy Making; IR 2 - Improving Transparency and Accountability in Governance; and IR 3 - Reducing Vulnerability to Ethnic and Political Conflict, all of which are essential to the consolidation of democracy in Guyana. To overcome the above-mentioned barriers and contribute to the consolidation of democratic governance in Guyana, USAID will emphasize initiatives in local government and civil society, which are linked to strategically identified openings and opportunities at the national level. The contractor shall be required to work with all U.S. Government partners in achieving the above intermediate results. Please note that this RFP is for services in Guyana and not the Dominican Republic.
