Short description of the project

Please note that EP-Nuffic requires a letter of intent for this project. Please refer to the required formats as mentioned in the tender document.

The TVET-system in Kenya needs improvement to provide the economy with skilled workers and give entrepreneurial spirit an upswing. This project will assist the National Authority for TVET (TVETA) to renew the TVET system.

The project will provide TVETA with the capability to ensure that Kenya has an adequate number of TVET institutions that are centrally registered and accredited and well distributed throughout Kenya. Those institutions will offer accredited competency-based, market-driven and gender-sensitive curricula and deliver graduates who meet the qualifications set in the National Qualifications Framework.

Technical, vocational, social and entrepreneurial skills will be transferred to students by a sufficient number of pedagogically competent trainers, customised teaching and learning materials and adequate equipment. Industry participation will be deep-seated in determining the qualifications of graduates, teaching and research support.

In the end, the perception of Kenyans of TVET will be positive because of the quality education that is offered and the excellent perspective graduates have for their future work-life.
