The Center for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award on a sole source basis a Purchase Order to the Oregon Research Institute, Eugene, Oregon, 97403. The purpose of the purchase shall be to develop multimedia program packages based on Tai Chi Moving for Better Balance, to be disseminated nation-wide to community based senior service providers and applied in public health practice and provide train-the-trainer sessions for implementation of the program. Oregon Research Institute has the unique capability to produce this national toolkit since it is the only source for the evaluated and tested Moving for Better Balance program. The authority for this procurement is FAR Part 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Anticipated award date is September 21, 2007. This is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. Firms that believe they can provide the services required are encouraged to identify themselves and provide written notification to the contracting officer within 15 days from the date of this synopsis. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
