CONSULTANCY SERVICES FOR CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISION OF URBAN INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT IN MTWARA MUNICIPALITY UNDER THE TSCP This request for expression of interest follows the General Procurement Notice for the Tanzania Strategic Cities Project that appeared in the UN Development Business online of April 22, 2010. The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania has received a credit from the International Development Association (IDA) towards the cost of the Tanzania Strategic Cities Project (TSCP). It is intended that part of the proceeds of the credit will be used to cover eligible payments under the contract for the Provision of Consultancy Services for Construction Supervision of Urban Infrastructure Development in Mtwara Municipality under the Tanzania Strategic Cities Project (TSCP). The overall scope of the consultancy assignment comprises the supervision of contracts for construction/rehabilitation/upgrading of approximately 17 km of roads to bitumen standard and development of approximately 7.2 Ha of solid waste disposal site (landfill). The Prime Minister’s Office, Regional Administration and Local Government (PMO-RALG) on behalf of Mtwara-Mikindani Municipal Council, now invites eligible consulting firms to indicate their interest in providing the above services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services [brochures; description of similar assignments in the last 10 years (clearly showing name of assignment, name and contact address of the client, value, dates/period and duration of execution of assignment); experience in similar conditions; availability of appropriate skills among staff related to this assignment, etc.]. Consultants may associate to enhance their qualifications. Note: This Tender is being advertised at the same time together with other seven (7) Tenders for Construction Supervision of Works in Cities/Municipalities of Tanga, Arusha, Mwanza, Kigoma, Dodoma and Mbeya as well as the CDA in Dodoma. Consultants can express interest in one or more Tenders if they have capacity, noting that all contracts shall also be running concurrently. A consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers, May 2004, Revised October 1, 2006.
