The Ministry of Works and Housing has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Greater Accra Climate Resilient and Integrated Development Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for Dredging of the Odaw River Main Channel and Selected Tributaries and clearing under a Performance Based Contract. The procurement process will be governed by the World Bank’s Procurement Regulations.
The Government of Ghana intends to initially select Applicants for Deferred and Routine Maintenance Dredging of the Odaw Drainage Basin in Accra under a Performance Based Contract. The contract has a duration of four and a half years, split in one or two years of deferred maintenance dredging and three or four years of routine maintenance dredging. The geographical scope of the contract includes the Odaw river from Caprice to the sea (comprising lined and unlined sections), and the main Odaw River tributaries (the South Kaneshie, Cemetery and Mataheko drains, the first section of the Nima drain, the Agbogbloshie drain and the Odawna drain). The dredging works will be procured under a Performance Based Contract (PBC). Applicants must show proof of experience in urban dredging/dredging of drainage channels/dredging of shallow channels/dredging in environmentally environmental sensitive areas to be initially selected. Experience in PBC will be an added advantage. It is expected that the Request for Proposals will be made in May 2021.
Initial Selection will be conducted through the procedures as specified in the World Bank’s Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers (July 2016, Revised November 2017 and August 2018) (“Procurement Regulations”), and is open to all eligible Applicants as defined in the Procurement Regulations.
Interested eligible Applicants may obtain further information from the Ministry of Works and Housing at the address (1) below during office hours, Monday to Friday (09:00 to 16:00 hours GMT). A complete set of Initial Selection documents in English may be purchased by interested Applicants on the submission of a written application to the address (2) below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of US$100.00 (One Hundred United States Dollars) equivalent of Ghana Cedis 573.00. The method of payment will be cash or through Western Union Money Transfer or similar in the name of the Ministry of Works and Housing. The document will be sent by Courier Service on Applicants’ request. Courier service will attract additional cost of US$50.00 equivalent of Ghana Cedis 287.00 which will also be paid for as described above.
Applications for Initial Selection should be submitted in clearly marked envelopes and delivered to the address (2) below by 16:00 hours GMT on 21st May, 2021. Late applications may be rejected.
