Ecology of insect vectors of Xylella fastidiosa in EU table grapes outbreaks

Objectives: The overarching goal is to address key knowledge gaps in the entomology of plant health within Europe. We aim to understand the ecological dynamics of insect vectors such as the Xylella fastidiosa bacteria affecting EU vineyards and the false codling moth in East Africa. This grant focuses on developing methods to identify and control these pests by collecting and analyzing ecological data to support effective management strategies. Achieving these objectives will enhance EU risk assessment and preparedness in plant health, offering vital insights for safeguarding agriculture and minimizing economic impacts caused by these vectors and pests.
