Your mission
For our project focused on the support of a peaceful solution and political dialogue in Yemen, we are looking for a new team member to fill the role as Junior Project Manager (all genders).
Overview of the position:
Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week)
Starting date: 01.01.2023
Duration: limited contract for a duration of one year
Location: Berlin
Department & reporting line: Regional Peace Support Yemen & MENA // Head of Unit Yemen
Your main tasks:
- You are part of the project implementation, meaning: Actively plan and participate in project-related activities and events
- You are co-responsible for donor reporting ensuring internal & external guidelines are met
- You are co-responsible for the communication towards project partners/stakeholders/participants
- You contribute to the development of concept notes and project applications
- You conduct background research and provide teams with abstracts about conflict topics when needed
- Content related preparation of event materials (e.g. preparation of PPT, handbooks, flyer)
- Close collaboration with Finance Managers or colleagues working on project logistics regarding project activities and/or budget issues, e.g. coordination of on-site cash flow; collecting and preparing use evidence and other administrative topics
- You co-decide on project expenditures within project frameworks
Your knowledge, experience & skills:
- You hold a Master degree within relevant field such as Peace and Conflict Studies, Political Science, International Relations or similar
- You have first relevant working experience
- You have already gained (either theoretical or practical) insight into the challenges surrounding the peace process in Yemen
- Furthermore, you feel comfortable with both - remote communication & cooperation or in-person encounters
- Excellent verbal and written language skills in English and Arabic (at least C1-level)
- Professional skills in the use of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Teams) complete your profile

The contract duration of the full-time position is limited for a duration of one year, depending on the availability of project funds.
