Team Leader & Climate Finance Policy Expert (Category 1)
Expert category: Cat. I (>12 years of experience)
Qualifications and skills required: A Master’s degree in natural or environmental sciences, environmental economics, climate change, business administration, economics, international relations, political science, public relations. In the absence of a Master’s Degree, the Team Leader should have a Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant fields above and 14 years of working experience in the context of global climate change and/or climate finance.
General professional experience: At least 12 years of working experience in the context of global climate change and/or climate finance.
Specific professional experience: # At least 3 years of experience in Team leading positions # At least 5 years proven experience with institutional and capacity development in the climate change and climate finance sector, including climate finance mechanisms such as the United Nation’s Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)’s Green Climate Fund (GCF), Global Environmental Facility (GEF) and the Adaptation Fund, preferably in Africa; # At least 3 years experience in planning, budgeting and policy development/reviews in public sector for climate change/finance sector; # At least 2 years experience in working in bilateral/multilateral programmes; # Practical knowledge of EU policies and relevant investment stakeholders in the field of climate change/finance; # Strong presentation, facilitation and report writing skills; # Proficiency with basic office applications, including MS Office; # Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines, including the ability to integrate feedback of team members and stakeholders
Language skills: # Demonstrated excellent command of spoken and written English.
