Project Overview:

This project aims to manage and develop a dedicated Suai Supply Base, through a Design-Build and Finance contract. The Supervision works of SSB design build contract will provide specialized project management advice and expertise in the development of onshore and offshore works.

We are currently seeking an experienced IT Specialist with a minimum of 15 years' post-graduate experience to join our team in the region. The IT Specialist will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive IT systems to support the development and operations of the project. This includes infrastructure setup, data security, software and hardware management, and support for systems critical to port operations, such as Port Management Systems (PMS), navigation beacons, communication systems, and safety monitoring technologies. The specialist will also ensure the reliability of digital tools used by project stakeholders and provide technical support across the multidisciplinary teams.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to Team Lead
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, servers, and networks for project operations.
  • Ensure secure and stable internet connectivity and data management systems.
  • Implement and support communication systems (e.g., email, VoIP, video conferencing).
  • Manage IT inventory, including hardware and software licensing.
  • Support data backup, recovery, and cybersecurity protocols.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware/software/network issues.
  • Liaise with vendors and service providers for equipment and services.
  • Train project staff in IT systems usage and ensure compliance with IT policies.
  • Support and oversee the implementation of Port Management Systems (PMS).
  • Ensure operational readiness of navigation beacons and related maritime signalling systems.
  • Implement and maintain CCTV and security monitoring systems for port safety.
  • Ensure integration of IT systems across logistics, customs, and maritime operations.
  • Provide technical support during commissioning of digital and automated systems within the port.
  • Maintaining a culture of continuous improvement across all aspects of the working environment and projects.
  • To ensure maximum flexibility and to reflect the Company's evolving needs, additional tasks and responsibilities will form part of this role as it evolves.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.- Minimum of 15 years post-qualification experience.
  • At least 10 years in IT administration roles within engineering, infrastructure, or construction projects.
  • Experience as sole IT lead or specialist on at least two large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrated experience with IT implementation in remote or international project environments.
  • Familiarity with digital project management and collaboration platforms.
  • Experience supporting port-specific systems including PMS, navigation beacons, and digital security infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in network administration, system configuration, and IT support.
  • Strong knowledge of data security and cloud services.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage IT systems across remote project sites.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural team.
  • Good time management skills, with the ability to prioritise work and manage many tasks concurrently.
  • You will have an agile and “Can Do” mindset.
