MAGENTA’s MENA team operates on projects that include strategic communication, behavioural insights research, campaign design, SBC intervention implementation, and evaluation. We are looking for an exceptional individual to join this team as Team Leader, driven by a passion for social impact and able to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment. 

Primary responsibilities of the Team Leader are: 

  1. providing strategic leadership and oversight for all components of the EU–Jordan communication programme, 
  2. managing the team of key and non-key experts to ensure quality delivery, 
  3. coordinating closely with the EU Delegation and stakeholders, and 
  4. ensuring rigorous reporting, planning and compliance with contractual requirements. 

RESPONSIBILITIES  

The Team Leader will report to the Project Director. Typical tasks include: 

1. Strategic Leadership & Programme Direction 

  • Provide strategic guidance across all four contract components (communications, content, social media, coordination). 
  • Lead the development of the annual and monthly work plans, campaign strategies, and messaging frameworks. 
  • Ensure alignment with EU communication priorities, visibility guidelines, and neighbourhood policy objectives. 
  • Oversee monitoring, evaluation, analytics and progress reporting. 

2. Team Management & Quality Assurance 

  • Manage and supervise key and non-key experts; allocate tasks and manage workflow. 
  • Supervise all deliverables, ensuring quality control across content, campaigns, events, and reporting. 
  • Review and approve all materials prior to submission to the EU Delegation. 
  • Ensure compliance with contractual, technical and branding requirements. 

3. Stakeholder Coordination & Representation 

  • Act as the primary interface with the EU Delegation in Jordan. 
  • Coordinate with EU-funded projects, implementing partners, ministries, media, and influencers. 
  • Facilitate monthly coordination meetings and periodic strategic sessions with EUD. 
  • Represent MAGENTA in high-level engagements, events, and consultations. 

4. Reporting, Planning & Contract Compliance 

  • Prepare inception, progress and final reports. 
  • Ensure timely submission of outputs and adherence to contractual obligations. 
  • Identify risks and propose mitigation measures throughout implementation. 
  • Oversee project administration tasks related to deliverables and visibility compliance. 

REQUIREMENTS  

Education:  

  • University degree in communication, public relations, journalism, marketing, social sciences, international relations, marketing, or advertising. 
  • In absence of a degree: 5 additional years professional experience in strategic communication. 

Experience 

  • Minimum 6 years professional experience in media, communication, marketing, or advertising. 
  • Minimum 5 years project management experience in the same sectors. 
  • Minimum 5 years running communication campaigns, outreach initiatives, and events. 
  • Minimum 3 years writing, editing and translating complex messages into accessible language. 
  • Experience with EU communication or neighbourhood policy communication (asset). 
  • Knowledge of Jordan’s political and institutional environment (asset). 

Skills 

  • Excellent written and spoken Arabic and English. 
  • Strong organisational, team management and planning skills. 
  • Excellent networking and interpersonal skills. 
  • Strong editorial, drafting, and reporting ability. 
  • Proficiency with digital content workflows and Office 365.
