Team Leader - Capacity Development of FOs & MSMEs

Project objectives

Strengthening farmer organizations and rural MSMEs in Northern Mozambique to become competitive, business-oriented actors within agri-food value chains, improving incomes, market access, and livelihoods.

The project involves:

•          Capacity building of FOs and MSMEs in business, governance, and agribusiness skills.
•          Support for formalization and access to finance, including business plans.
•          Development of market linkages and partnerships across value chains.
•          Promotion of inclusive participation, especially for women and youth.
• The project has an expected duration of approx. 36 months. The project is funded through IFAD.

Qualifications:

• M.Sc. in Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Rural Development, Business Administration or related field
• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in capacity building of Farmer Organizations (FOs) and MSMEs  
• Minimum 5 years experience in strengthening agrifood value chains
• Proven experience managing multi-year, multi-location projects
• Key competencies: Stakeholder engagement & facilitation, Strategic thinking & problem solving, Training and mentoring capacity
• Work experience in Mozambique or Sub-Saharan Africa
• C1 level language proficiency in English, Portuguese highly desirable

Tasks:

•  Overall coordination and leadership of the assignment
•  Lead stakeholder consultations and planning processes
• Supervise implementation of: Training programs, Business development services, Market linkage activities
• Ensure quality delivery of outputs (business plans, training, partnerships)
•  Liaise with PROCAVA, government, and donors
•  Lead reporting and performance monitoring
