Oversee Contractor’s compliance with the environmental, social and health and safety requirements of the Contract.
Review and comment on the suitability of MSIPs/ C-ESMP and other relevant Contractor’s Documents for demonstrating how the Works will be performed in accordance with contract requirements
Supervise works on site and conduct regular site inspections and audits to monitor compliance with environmental, social, health, safety, and SEA/SH measures against approved Contractor’s Documents and contract requirements, and report results in regular progress reports.
Ensure corrective actions are identified and followed up on.
Oversee and attend ESHS inductions and toolbox trainings, ensuring content includes Code of Conduct and SEA/SH measures.
Liaise with local stakeholders and community members regarding ESHS concerns or disruptions as requested by the Employer.
Investigate and report incidents/accidents within 24 hours, perform root cause analysis, and recommend preventive measures.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Environmental Management, Occupational Health & Safety, or Engineering or a related field.
An internationally recognized Occupational, Health and Safety certification (e.g. NEBOSH or OSHA or comparable) is required.
Minimum eight (8) years of in similar position in supporting comparable (civil) construction projects, including World Bank/IFIs funded projects.
