Objective and Purpose of the Assignment

   
The capacity development technical assistance (“TA” or “project”) is designed to strengthen the 
legal and institutional framework for commerce and private sector investment.  To accomplish this, 
three outputs are envisaged under the TA.  Output 1: updating and modernizing commercial laws to 
align with international best practice, focusing initially on an updated insolvency law. Output 2: 
improving skills and knowledge of government staff on the updated and modernized commercial laws, 
focusing initially on the updated insolvency law.  Output 3: improving the skills and knowledge of 
legal professionals to facilitate commercial activities by developing a practical legal training 
program to improve the skills of legal practitioners in the practice and adjudication of various 
areas of commercial law.  This Assignment relates only to Output 3 of the TA.
