Purchase of single-phase & three phase split prepayment din rail mounting static watt-hour meters for active energy

1. The Government of the Republic of Liberia has applied for a credit from the International Development Association and the Government of Norway towards the cost of Liberia Electricity Sector Enhancement Project and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the Contract for Purchase of Conductors and Cables
2. Liberia Electricity Corporation now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for Supply of Conductors and Cables described as in the Schedule of Requirement of the Bid Document.
3. Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank's Guidelines:
Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits

(May 2004 revised October 2006), and is open to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines.

and inspect the Bidding Documents at the address given above from 0900 to 1500 hours, Monday to Friday excluding public holidays.
5. Qualifications requirements include:
I. Submission of Tender Security of US$50,000 or Equivalent in a freely convertible currency.
II. The bidder shall furnish documentary evidence that it has access to credit or liquid asset of up to US$ 500,000. This may be in the form of a letter from the bidder's bankers.
III. The bidder shall furnish documentary evidence that it (or its manufacturer) has supplied similar quantities outside the country of manufacture in the last 5 years.
IV Valid ISO 9001 certificate or equivalent Quality Assurance Certification for the manufacturer of Goods shall be required.
6. A complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written Application to the address below and upon payment of a non refundable fee of US$ 100. The method of payment will be Bankers check in favor of Liberia Electricity Corporation or paid in cash in Chief Accountant's Office, 3rd Floor, LEC Central Office. The Bidding Documents will be sent by Courier if requested and the bidder will meet the cost.
7. Bids must be delivered to the address below at/or before 10.00 am on 12th November, 2010. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders' representatives who choose to attend in person at the address below on 12th November, 2010 at 10.30 am. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of US$50,000 or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency.
