The MAGENTA Data Partnership Guatemala 2025 is a collaborative effort between MAGENTA and a local data collection agency to support behaviorally informed programming in Guatemala. The initiative is part of MAGENTA’s broader work in Latin America and aims to generate high-quality qualitative and quantitative data to inform two key social and behavior change (SBC) components:
A national campaign promoting the return to the traditional model of the School Feeding Program (PAE), with freshly prepared meals served in schools.
A behavior change strategy to encourage healthy dietary practices among beneficiaries of the Bolsa Social program.
Spanning eight months, the partnership will deliver research and monitoring across three phases: formative research, baseline assessment, and endline evaluation. Data will be gathered through in-depth interviews, focus groups, food purchase diaries, and surveys with various stakeholders including parents, caregivers, teachers, and program facilitators.
Through this collaboration, MAGENTA aims to ensure that all program components are informed by locally grounded evidence, enabling culturally relevant and effective communication strategies that support lasting behavioral change in food-related practices.
