Within the framework of our competences at the national level, as the governing body in agrarian matters, in the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation, we develop strategies aligned to provide quality public goods and services to thousands of families in the country, the same that we develop in concordance with the National Agrarian Policy, which defines medium and long-term orientations, in favor of the sustainable development of agriculture, prioritizing family farming, and enabling the development and development of social inclusion for the benefit of the rural population, also contributing to the Food and nutritional security in Peru.

We promote the sustainable use of forest and wildlife resources through productive ventures and investments under criteria of environmentally responsible and sustainable economic and social development and a productive conservation approach aimed at sustainable use and appropriate treatment.

We manage and monitor natural sources of water. We grant use rights for the development of productive activities such as agriculture, energy, industry, mining, aquaculture, as well as for population use. We conduct studies and inventories of natural sources of surface and groundwater. We monitor the quality of the rivers, authorize the reuse of treated wastewater and give an opinion on environmental instruments, regarding the impacts that may be generated on water resources. Finally, we evaluate, alert and manage the risk on rivers and glaciers.

We implement strategies to maintain the phytosanitary status achieved and that allows our country to support the growth of national agricultural and livestock production, protecting it from the entry of pests and diseases that are not found in Peru.

We promote the legal physical sanitation of the agrarian property, through the technological equipment of the Regional Governments and the modernization of the national system of Rural Cadastre that we administer as MINAGRI.

We promote the productive and commercial development of the products and derivatives of the livestock activity (cattle, sheep, alpacas, llamas, pigs, goats, guinea pigs and birds) and their access to the markets, in coordination with the different sectors.

We generate high quality technologies and new crops in response to the demand of the producers, in order to contribute to food security and increase the productive capacity of the sector.

We strengthen and expand the access of products of small and medium farmers to national and international markets, also promoting the organization of producers, and facilitating the development of business plans and formalization of organizations.
