The town of Flămânzi is known mainly because of the fact that the Uprising of 1907 started here, a historical event that marked the social life of Romanians, before the Great Union. The first documentary attestation for Flămânzi took place in 1605, but within the locality there are 26 places (archaeological sites), where traces of life have been found since the Upper Paleolithic period (26-27000 BC). For almost 200 years (1605-1804) the Flămânzi estate was owned by the Dragomirna monastery, a UNESCO heritage monument, later becoming the owners of the estate the logofatal Theodor Balș (1790-1867) and then the ruler Mihail Sturza (1794-1884). Therefore, the city of Flămânzi, through its history, is linked to important places and personalities in the history of the country, and through the Uprising of 1907 we can say that this is a name in history.
