Piła - a city in north-western Poland , in the Greater Poland Voivodeship , the seat of the Piła poviat . It is located on the border of the Wałeckie Lakeland and Krajeńskie Lakeland , on the Gwda River , about 11 km above its confluence with the Noteć . The town developed from a small fishing village situated on the lower Gwda River, among forests.
