Cámara Nacional de la Industria de la Transformación (National Chamber of the Manufacturing Industry) is a Mexican public organization grouping small and medium manufacturers. CANACINTRA has taken different positions on economic and political issues, as well as has represented the small manufacturers that appeared during the import-substitution industrialization process in Mexico between the late 1930s and the late 1960s. It was, therefore, a strong defender of protectionist policies.
CANACINTRA is the body that represents the Industrial Sector of Mexico considered for its coverage, representativeness and infrastructure, as the most important in Latin America, which allows it to effectively meet the needs of its industries affiliates. Mission: Represent, Defend and Promote, under the legal framework and the values expressed in the Earth Charter, the interests of affiliates and the INDUSTRIAL sector of Mexico, effectively influencing the development, sustainability, innovation, competitiveness and integration of industries, sectors and regions, through high quality services articulated by the Comprehensive Service Center.
