The Parysów commune is located in the north-eastern part of the Garwoliński district in the Masovian Voivodeship. Road distances from the commune are: to Garwolin about 13 km, to Warsaw about 60 km. These distances are short, which means that the commune's inhabitants have the opportunity to use the labor market and services in these cities. The area of the commune - 64 km2, puts it in the group of smaller communes in the country, and the population of 4,127 people (at the end of 2008) - also in the group of small ones. It belongs to rural communes with medium population (currently 64 people per 1 km2). The commune includes 12 towns (10 village councils). The commune of Parysów, as well as the village of Kozłów, had city rights in the past. The urban layout of Parysów has been preserved (a large market square with a church and streets branching off from the market square).
