The commune of Borsa in Cluj County is located on the Borsei Valley, 10 km to the west from its discharge into the Somes River, 36 km from the county seat, Cluj-Napoca and 30 km from the city of Gherla. From the point of view of the geographical location, the commune of Borsa is located at the intersection of the meridian of 23 degrees and 40 minutes and the parallel of 46 degrees and 57 minutes north latitude.
The commune consists of the following villages: Borsa residenta, Ciumafaia , Giula , Borsa-Crestaia , Borsa-Catun .
There are no documents that show precisely the age of the village of Borsa and the villages belonging to it. However, some written documents show that initially the locality was a shepherds' settlement. After 1337, the village of Borsa became the property of Baron Banffy, gifted to him by the King of Hungary Ludovic I. The Banffy family remained in Borsa until after the Second World War, when all the properties they owned in commune.
