Český Brod ( German: Böhmisch Brod ) is a town in the Kolín District in the Central Bohemian Region . It lies about 27 km west of Kolín , 18 km southwest of Nymburk and 9 km east of Úval . It has approximately 7,400 [1] inhabitants. In 2011, 1752 addresses were registered here. [4] The small river Šembera also flows through the city , into which the Jalový potok and the Bušinec stream flow . Part of the city are the formerly separate villages of Liblice and Štolmíř , and on the banks of the Podvinného and Mlýnského ponds, the settlement of Zahrady , which merges with the neighboring villages of Vrátkov and Tuchoraz into one settlement.
