About
Prof Krasposy Kujinga is the Programmes Coordinator for WaterNet, a SADC subsidiary institution for human capacity development in integrated water resources management (IWRM). The four regional programmes coordinated by Krasposy are education, short professional training, research and outreach. Krasposy is a Social Scientist (Sociologist), Natural Resources Management and Monitoring and Evaluation expert, who holds a PhD in Natural Resources Management, with a particular focus on Water Security. He has an interests in human capacity building in the management of natural resources in general and water resources in particular. His research interests are in natural resources management, livelihoods rural development, adaptation to climate, IWRM and water security and transboundary water resources governance. He has published several journal articles, books and book chapters. Krasposy is also an Extraordinary Associate Professor with the Unit of Environmental Sciences and Management of the North-West University (NWU), South Africa.
Since 1997, Krasposy has gained vast experience in developing project proposals and coordinating mono-disciplinary, multi-disciplinary and inter-disciplinary projects and programs. He has developed research proposals which have been funded by organizations such as the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ), the European Union (EU),International Development Research Centre (IDRC), International Excellence for Water Resources Management (ICE WaRM), Global Environmental Facility, Development Partnerships in Higher Education, Organisation for Social Science Research in Eastern and Southern Africa, UNESCO, Water for Southern Africa and the International Research and Development of France. Krasposy has experience in the coordination of capacity building programmes for the water sector in Eastern and Southern Africa.
Krasposy has over 20 years experience in using qualitative and quantitative data collection methods with vast experience in situation analysis, policy research analysis, baseline surveys, rapid assessments, environmental impacts assessments (EIAs) and knowledge, attitude, and perception surveys. I have experience in designing research tools, carrying out of surveys, needs assessments, mid-term and end of project reviews/evaluations of water and sanitation, rural and urban waste management, natural resources management, land, forests, gender and HIV and AIDS, livelihoods and other development programmes.
