Pavement and Material Engineer:

Review of materials, work methods, source and origin of plants, equipment, tools and materials.

Organization of materials, testing laboratory (personnel, equipment’s); Inspect and organize installation of Contractor’s laboratory.

Establish procedures for plant records for production of aggregates and store details of the consumption of cement and aggregate etc.

Deal with the relevant material engineering aspects like mix designs, laying procedures etc. Certify qualitative completion of part or all of the works.

Equipment and organization of field tests and sampling for laboratory tests.

Study the design specifications and suggest/recommend modifications, if necessary.

Assist the Resident Engineer in review of the approval of the source of materials & their quality.

Assist the Engineer in establishing the sampling sites and monitor the sampling and testing procedures both in the field and laboratory.
