The Historical Competition of the Minister of Foreign Affairs for the best publications promoting the history of Poland and the history of Polish diplomacy

The Minister of Foreign Affairs announces a competition for the best foreign language publication promoting the history of Poland and the best publication in Polish on the history of Polish diplomacy published in 2022. Authors can submit their books until June 1, 2023.

Only book publications (both scientific monographs as well as popular science publications and editions of sources) whose number of authors does not exceed three may be submitted to the competition.

The winners in the category of the best foreign language publication promoting the history of Poland will receive a cash prize of EUR 10,000 for the first place, EUR 5,000 for the second place, EUR 2,500 for the third place; for the winners in the category of the best publication on the history of Polish diplomacy – PLN 20,000 for the 1st place, PLN 10,000 for the 2nd place, PLN 5,000 for the 3rd place.

Prizes in the competition are awarded by the Minister of Foreign Affairs at the request of the Historical Diplomacy Council.

Rules for submitting publications:

The condition for participation in the competition is to send works by June 1, 2023 (the date of the postmark is decisive).

Works for the competition should be submitted in the form of 3 copies of the publication, attaching (if possible) published reviews, opinions and publishing reviews. It is also acceptable to send the book in electronic form to the following address: ddpk.sekretariat@msz.gov.pl with the name "Historical Competition of the Minister of Foreign Affairs" in the title.

The written consent of the author or authors to participate in the competition and their contact details must be attached to the application.

This year's edition of the competition covers only works published in 2022. All formal and substantive requirements are included in the rules of the competition, the detailed rules of which are set out in: Ordinance No. 24 of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of July 18, 2017 on the Historical Competition of the Minister of Foreign Affairs with attachments (Official Journal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of 2023, item 7).

Please send your publications to the following address: Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Department of Public and Cultural Diplomacy, Al. J.Ch. Szucha 23, 00-580 Warsaw; with the note on the envelope "Historical Competition of the Minister of Foreign Affairs"; or submit it to the Registry Journal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, entrance from ul. Litewska, from 8.15 to 16.15 from Monday to Friday.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs does not return copies of publications submitted for the competition.
