The guidelines for participating in the 2025 Call for Proposals for the Waldensian and Methodist Eight per Thousand were published a few days ago . All associations wishing to submit a request for funding for their solidarity initiatives in Italy and abroad have the opportunity to consult them, to prepare a project and documentation compliant with the guidelines prepared by the Waldensian Table. This year the deadline for the call is set for January 24, 2025.
Also this year the distribution of funds for the support of social, welfare, humanitarian and cultural interventions , both in Italy and abroad, will take place as usual through the presentation of project proposals by civil society organizations in the non-profit world .
In the last edition of the call, approximately 40 million euros were assigned, with which the Waldensian Church financed 1,363 projects (393 abroad and 970 in Italy).
The following may apply:
Entities belonging to the Methodist and Waldensian order;
Italian or foreign associations (type A/B associations, committees and social cooperatives provided that the requested funding is used for the purposes set out in law 409/1993, i.e. welfare, humanitarian, cultural and in any case not for profit-making activities);
Italian or foreign ecumenical organizations .
It is possible to submit a maximum of two project proposals as a proposing entity. The lead entity must have been established for more than 2 years , or be able to produce the 2022 and 2023 financial statements. The interventions can be carried out both in Italy and abroad and must pursue the objectives identified within an intervention category specified below:
Projects Italy
Health and health protection interventions : improvement of quality of life, support and care services, prevention;
Promotion of well-being and relational, emotional and cognitive growth of children and young people ;
Cultural activities : promote access to cultural heritage and the production of goods with scientific, artistic and informative value;
Improving the living conditions of disabled people : autonomy, socialization, participation; support for families;
Reception and inclusion of refugees and migrants : promotion of reception and integration policies, assistance services; training, access to the labour market;
Fight against poverty , social hardship and job insecurity: fight against marginalisation, socio-economic and job insecurity;
Elderly : promote psycho-physical and relational well-being through reception, assistance and socialisation programmes;
Citizenship education : promotion of debate on issues of social and ethical relevance, promotion of active citizenship, contrast to hate speech, intolerance and discrimination;
Prevention and fight against gender violence : prevent and fight all forms of gender violence through counseling programs, psychological support, legal assistance and economic and social empowerment;
Recovery and inclusion of prisoners and ex-prisoners : improve the psycho-physical well-being of prisoners and promote paths of inclusion and reintegration into society;
Environmental protection : awareness raising, protection of environmental heritage and promotion of eco-friendly lifestyles.
Projects abroad
Fight against malnutrition : food self-sufficiency, food hygiene, distribution programs;
Promoting the role of women and gender equality: combating discrimination; access to services; strengthening the role of women in society;
Access to water and sanitation : availability and sustainable management; water supply; education;
Participation, dialogue, governance and human rights with particular reference to ethnic, religious and linguistic minorities; support peacekeeping and conflict prevention;
Child protection : recovery and social reintegration; fight against child labor, sexual exploitation, etc.; training for operators;
Education : basic literacy for adults and children; inclusive primary and secondary education with regard to female targets and vulnerable categories (disabled, indigenous, orphans, etc.);
Vocational training and income-generating activities: vocational and on-the-job training; internships and scholarships;
Environmental protection : biodiversity; combating desertification; waste management and eco-sustainable systems for energy supply;
Rural development and food security: self-sufficiency of local communities; improvement of quality of food production and marketing;
Health and health protection interventions : supply of medicines and vaccines; purchase of equipment, construction of structures; screening and treatment programs; assistance for the elderly and disabled;
Humanitarian aid – emergency : first aid and restoration of primary services; reconstruction, rehabilitation of social fabric, resilience in contexts of ongoing instability.
All funding requests must be submitted exclusively through the Juno IT platform starting from January 7, 2025. Applications may be submitted in both Italian and English. The list of funded projects will be published on the website after the first week of September 2025 .
