Taxonomy and biology of Leucinodes species (grass moths) from Africa

Objectives: The main objective of this grant is to enhance the dual understanding of taxonomy and the biology of African Leucinodes species, specifically to address key knowledge gaps identified during EFSA risk assessments on invasive insect plant pests. The grant focuses on understanding the taxonomy, biology, and ecology of these species to mitigate associated plant health risks in the EU. Three specific objectives include elucidating the taxonomy and geographic distribution of African Leucinodes species, investigating their ecology and life cycles, and disseminating findings to relevant stakeholders.
