Effective environmental observing systems and associated governance

Objectives: The grant aims to enhance global environmental monitoring through the development and deployment of cost-effective, user-friendly environmental observing systems. These systems are intended to serve scientific, policy, and decision-making needs by improving usability, accessibility, effectiveness, interoperability, and data exploitation. The project seeks to foster international cooperation in line with EU and global climate goals, creating resilient, sustainable observing systems under robust governance models. It emphasizes digital innovations, such as AI and IoT, to optimize both orbital and non-orbital systems, supporting international agreements like the Paris Agreement and Montreal Protocol.
