Specific Challenge:Investigation on strain field modification induced by damages and defects in loaded composite structures. Flaw mapping by virtual testing approach for SHM with passive static sensors, like strain gages or sensorized optic fiber. The virtual testing approach will consist of experimental evaluations of modification of the strain field induced by damages and/or defects with a scale-up approach coupled with FEM calculation on the reference full scale structure, in which experimentally validated defect models are inserted.
