Technical support and assistance to the Euroclima LAC and the Caribbean Green Deal programs
Key expert 2 (KE2): Technical Expert on climate change and biodiversity knowledge management (indicative min of 1000 wd)
KE2 will be responsible for providing technical guidance on Euroclima LAC and the Euroclima Caribbean programs related areas, notably in the biodiversity and/or climate change fields. Responsibilities will include, inter alia, technical input on programme work plans, on coordination of activities, with particular emphasis on the interface of science and climate/biodiversity policies. KE2 will coordinate the programme's knowledge management and knowledge sharing strategy in liaison with the implementing agencies, as well as the knowledge dissemination and the exchange between the various partners of the programme, including the integration and exchange of good practices and lessons learned.
Qualifications and skills
- University degree in natural resources, economics, sciences, engineering or a relevant related discipline
- Knowledge and experience in climate change and development nexus issues, as well as knowledge management and knowledge sharing, with proven experience thereof in Latin America and/or the Caribbean
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent organisation and coordination skills
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Spanish is compulsory; knowledge of French is considered an advantage.
General professional experience
- At least 12 years of professional experience in the area of environmental sustainability and climate change
- At least 5 years of work experience with international donors and other public, non-state or private actors in developing countries, preferably in Latin America and/or the Caribbean
- Prior experience with EU development cooperation is an advantage, as is experience with other international organisations/donors.
Specific professional experience
- At least 3 years of work experience in the area of climate change, environmental protection, biodiversity and related finance, preferably some of which in Latin America and/or the Caribbean
- Knowledge of and experience in circular economy in the Caribbean is an asset
- Experience in participatory and consultative processes, including facilitating workshops stakeholder consultations, and policy reform processes
- Experience in the interface of science and climate policy is an advantage
- Proven experience in knowledge design and management
- Experience in knowledge creation and management in the area of environmental management and/or climate change and/or biodiversity is considered an advantage.
