International Expert in Plant Quarantine and Protection 

Location - Toshkent, Uzbekistan

The aim of the current project is: "Support for economic reforms and sustainable economic development in Uzbekistan. "This support is expected to create sustainable employment and better income opportunities as part of sustainable economic development. Furthermore, It contributes to the implementation of economic reform measures in the sectors of agriculture, agro-business and tourism. It also promotes inclusive growth and sustainable economic development with a focus on rural regions and, through its implementation orientation, makes a direct contribution to the creation of employment and income opportunities.

The module objective of the project is: In the framework of implementation of economic reforms, local economic development is strengthened in regions of Uzbekistan. We are currently looking for an open-minded and motivated expert (m/f/d) with a proven track record in international plant protection standards. 

Job Description:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and communicative, experienced colleague, who is willing and able to integrate his/her abilities, networks and dedication in the project. The expert will be responsible for tasks related to plant  protection standards. 

The tasks include:

• Analysis of partner institutions
• Carrying out needs analyses in the area of plant protection and protection
• Carrying out needs analyses of the agency
• Development of an action plan based on the analyses
• Implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the implementation process of planned activities
• Regular exchange with project staff and committee
• Policy to the committee on priority issues
• Implementation of training measures

Qualifications:

• University degree (diploma/master's degree) in agriculture, soil science, plant protection or sector-relevant course of study;
• Language proficiency in English or German C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages;
• 15 years of professional experience in the sector of agriculture, soil science or plant protection;
• 10 years of professional experience in plant quarantine and protection and implementation of international plant protection standards;
• 3 years of work experience in Eastern Europe and on the Asian continent;
• 5 years of experience in DC projects;
