ABA-ROLI seeks a Program Associate for its Women and Girls Empowered (WAGE) Program. WAGE is a global consortium implementing programs to advance the status of women and girls. Led by ABA ROLI, in close partnership with the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE), Grameen Foundation, and Search for Common Ground (SFCG), WAGE works to strengthen the capacity of civil society and private sector organizations in target countries to improve the prevention of and response to gender-based violence (GBV); to advance the women, peace, and security (WPS) agenda; and to support women’s economic empowerment (WEE). In this context, WAGE provides direct assistance to women and girls, including information, resources, and services they need to succeed as active and equal participants in the global economy and public life. WAGE also undertakes collaborative research and learning to build a body of evidence based on promising practices in these thematic areas. WAGE is implementing 10 initiatives across 15 countries including in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East. The WAGE Program Associate reports to the WAGE Program Director and will support the day-to-day administrative and logistical needs of the project. The Program Associate will also support strategic communications and research efforts. The Program Associate will be part of the Global Programs Division and will provide oversight to other ABA ROLI global programs as needed as well as contributing to the development of new programs and initiatives.
· Responsible for the day-to-day support to all aspects of the WAGE Program such that all programmatic and budgetary requirements are being met/or exceeded according to ABA, ROLI, and donor requirements.
· Establish and maintain effective relationships, collaboration, and communication with ABA ROLI colleagues in headquarters, consortium partner staff, and staff in the regions and countries where program activities are being implemented.
· Coordinate regular meetings with project staff, including scheduling meetings across time zones using various IT platforms, taking notes during meetings, and flagging action items for relevant staff.
· Undertake financial monitoring and reporting of program activities, process and conduct follow-up for invoices and contracts.
· Assist with financial management of the program including reviewing projections, financial reports, and other financial documents.
· Coordinate inputs to program reporting including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
· Support Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) of the WAGE Program including tracking data and related documentation.
· Support the development of research products and publications including tracking research products in development, conducting background research, and editing publication drafts.
· Assist with strategic communications for WAGE including drafting social media posts, editing the website, and drafting and reviewing blogs.
· Track WAGE Learning Agenda deliverables.
· Support the recruitment and management of technical experts/consultants and interns, including contributing to drafting terms of reference, preparing contracts, and processing invoices.
· Perform other related duties as required.
Basic Qualifications & Interests
· Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
· Possession of basic skills in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
· Previous experience working in an office environment.
Preferred Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience.
· At least 1-2 years of work experience in a program management capacity.
· One to two years of work experience working for an international organization in a program management capacity.
· Degree in international development, gender studies or a relevant social science discipline.
· Interest in and commitment to rule of law, democracy and governance, gender equality, social inclusion and the empowerment of women and girls.
· Previous experience working in consortia and/or with local CSO partners and other stakeholders.
· Experience managing global programs and/or regional specific expertise in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, and Middle East and North Africa.
· Experience maintaining effective communication and coordination across a range of countries with diverse program activities and implementation timelines.
· Awareness of USG policies and strategies focused on gender and justice sector reform issues.
· Strong research, writing, analytical, knowledge management, and communication skills.
