Senior Value Chain Expert

Qualifications and Skills:

• A University Degree in economics, marketing, social sciences, law or natural sciences. In the absence of a university degree in these fields a minimum of 15 years of working experience in the field of agriculture, food industry, or rural development
• Fluent English
• Fluent in Azerbaijani, Russian or Turkish
• Good level of computer literacy

General Professional Experience:

• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in areas related to this assignment
• Experience of different methodologies for value chain analysis, with experience in implementing various approaches
• Demonstrated ability to work with and manage junior experts, and within a team approach

Specific Professional Experience

• High level of experience of having implemented / been the lead in detailed value chain analysis in the agriculture sector, preferably in fruit and vegetable sub-sector, would be an advantage
• Experience of adding value / identifying investment opportunities, market potential and/or revenue growth to agriculture sector value chains
• Working with various value chain actors from the private, public and/or third sector, investors development partners and stakeholders.
