Technical assistance on waste management and circular economy in Uruguay

Expert on circular economy:

General description of the position: The main tasks of the expert may include support to the local authorities in the identification, formulation and/or follow up of circular economy pilot projects in their territories; capacity building in this area; and mapping initiatives that could be of relevance to the Uruguayan context. In addition, as part of the preparation of the National Circular Economy Strategy, technical assistance may also be required for the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mines in this area.

Expert category: Cat. II (>6 years of experience)

Qualifications and skills required:

-Master degree or equivalent of at least 6 years of experience in a relevant area (Environment, Climate Change or other area closely related to waste management/circular economy);

-Communication and team-work skills;

-Capacity to work with national and local public institutions on related public policies;

-Capacity to work with different actors and in diverse environments.

General professional experience:

-At least 6 years of experience in project management, public policies and/or consultancy work on related areas (environment, climate change, waste management/circular economy or closely related fields);

-Experience working with Local Authorities and/or on projects with a territorial approach is required.

Specific professional experience:

-Experience in the field of circular economy.

Language skills: Advanced level of Spanish and English is required. The working language with the national counterparts will be exclusively Spanish.
