Climate Finance and Green Economy (CF&GE) Unit – National Treasury
Institutional and Capacity Development Expert (Category 3)
Expert category: Cat. III (>3 years of experience)
Qualifications and skills required: A Master’s degree in natural or environmental sciences, environmental economics, climate change, business administration, economics, international relations, political science, public relations, or related disciplines.. In the absence of a Master’s Degree, the Expert should have a Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant fields above and 5 years of working experience in the context of climate finance.
General professional experience: At least 3 years of professional experience in the field of climate finance.
Specific professional experience: # At least 3 years proven experience working with state an/or county administration, departments, and agencies on climate change and/or climate finance; # At least 2 years proven experience working on policies, strategies and frameworks in the field of climate change/finance (Paris Agreement, the Kyoto protocol and other global climate change treaties that Kenya has ratified), preferably Kenyan policies; # At least 2 years proven experience in finance and office administration; # Experience in elaborating information and communication material, and learning material; # Strong presentation, facilitation and report writing skills; # Proficiency in social media, report writing, info-graphics and power point presentations; # Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines, including the ability to integrate feedback of team members and stakeholders;
Language skills: Demonstrated excellent command of spoken and written English. Knowledge of Kiswahili would be an added advantage
