Key expert 2: Key expert Clean energy

(minimum 880 working days)

Qualifications and skills

  • Academic background in engineering, specialised in the energy sector (degree awarded by a university or an equivalent institution), or 5 years of equivalent relevant professional experience (in addition to the required years of General professional experience);
  • English language proficiency.

General professional experience (post-graduate)

  • Minimum 10, but preferably 15 years of professional experience with energy infrastructure projects.
  • Minimum 1, but preferably 3 years of managerial experience in leading teams.

Specific professional experience (post-graduate)

  • Professional experience with power transmission network facilities (lines, substations, other equipment) and renewable energy sources for electricity generation is mandatory. Additional experience with gas pipelines, clean energy transition, energy efficiency measures in public buildings, district heating or any other energy sub-sector relevant to the implementation of the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans is an advantage;
  • Minimum 7, but preferably 10 years of professional experience in preparing energy projects for the investment/implementation phase (e.g. pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, environmental, social and climate impact assessments, cost-benefit analyses, designs, tender documents, support during procurement phase, etc.);
  • Minimum 1 project experience related to EU-funded energy projects;
  • Professional experience in the Western Balkans is an advantage;
  •  Professional experience in working with international financial institutions (e.g. EIB, EBRD, KfW, WBG) is an advantage.
