Major Function

The Conservation Strategy and Impact Manager is responsible for leading and facilitating country strategy development and adaptation, monitoring results and impacts and highlighting successes, failures and lessons learned. Together with the Landscape Planning Lead and the Conservation Director, he or she will also coach and build the capacity of the country team in conservation strategic Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MPEL). He/she will work closely with the conservation programme management and implementation partners, including the Asia Pacific Regional Impact, Monitoring, and Reporting team, to regularly review strategies and work plans, design, facilitate and implement specific knowledge products and innovative approaches, and support learning.

Major responsibilities includes the sectors of Conservation Strategy & Planning, Conservation Impact & Analysis, Capacity Building and Programme Accountability & Network Relations.

Requirements

 

             Master of Science in Economics, Development studies, Environmental studies or similar. The MSc may be replaced by at least 4 additional years of relevant experience in positions of planning, monitoring and evaluation or programme management.

             Qualification in Project Management

             Knowledge of Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning techniques and programme management tools.

             Knowledge of the most common techniques for quantitative and qualitative research in social, ecological and conservation fields.

             Understanding of conservation issues in Myanmar.

             At least 5 years of experience in conservation (especially in project management or M&E) or sustainable development industry, preferably in South East Asia.

             Fluent in English with good communication skills in multi-cultural and Asian context.
