TVET Centres of Competence (CoC) Expert

MTC’s International Economic and Social Development (ESD) division is seeking for an international CoC Expert, for the GIZ-funded opportunity: Developing and establishing two Centres of Competence in the construction and wood working and furniture sectors in Egypt. We are participating in this opportunity at the tender stage. International CoC Expert will support the Team Leader in overall design and management of the four work packages:

·       Work package 1: CoC governance structures are set up and tailored to sectoral needs;

·       Work package 2: TVETA master trainers and CoC teachers are capacitated, including the coordination of short-term experts.

·       Work package 3: CoCs are equipped and prepared for training implementation  

·       Work package 4: The concept for CoC network schools is adapted and implemented

Successful candidates will have strong experience in change management in TVET, institutional development, strengthening TVET to expand capacity, private sector linkages/engagement, and workforce development.

This role involves providing technical advice on the establishment of governance structures for Centres of Competence (CoC). It also includes supporting the identification of training needs for CoC managers and providing capacity development to enhance their skills. The objective is to ensure effective implementation and management of CoCs, contributing to their success in driving innovation and excellence.

Responsibilities:

·       Provide technical advice on the establishment of CoC governance structures.

·       Support the identification of training needs for CoC managers.

·       Provide capacity development for CoC managers.

·       Support the Team Leader in the overall management of advisory/work packages including the coordination of short-term experts.

Qualifications:

·       Education/training: university master’s degree in education policy or TVET

·       Language: English C1 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages

·       General professional experience: 10 years of professional experience the management of TVET schools

·       Specific professional experience: 5 years of professional experience in the establishment of advanced TVET schools (such as CoCs)

·       Regional experience: 5 years of work experience in the MENA region (Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Syria, Tunisia, Yemen)
