The position

§  AETS is seeking a specialist to join its team in the field of climate change. As a member of the "Climate and Infrastructure" department, the person will develop activities in France and internationally.

This specialist will participate in activities within the sectors impacted by cross-sectoral climate deviations, and will also carry out planning and implementation missions – mitigation and/or adaptation dimensions - based on existing situations, such as:

o  Supporting the implementation of ambitious action on sustainable finance within the EU, including via the EU Green Deal and the EU Sustainable Finance Strategy.

o  Working to leverage Europe’s role in global approaches to integrating climate risks and opportunities in the financial system and increase transparency, accountability, and enforcement of regulation.

o  Creating opportunities for dialogue between all financial sector stakeholders.

o  Supporting processes and building capacity for sustainable finance at national, European, and global levels.

Key Responsibilities include:

§  Project coordination: managing and monitoring deliverables and work conducted by a set of grantees and external consultancies while maintaining regular communication and ensuring accountability; monitoring and evaluating progress and impact of initiatives and grants; and acting as a liaison to report progress to donors.

§  Research & Network activities: supporting the programme team in different fields of climate finance; scoping the landscape of different climate movements & initiatives, as well as identifying potential new projects & grantees.

§  Internal coordination and communication: liaising with other programme teams and the organisation’s operations and communications teams to ensure efficient dissemination of information, and consistency and complementarity of different projects and work streams.

§  Programme support: planning and organising internal and external meetings.

The profile

§  Strong interest in climate finance and the environment.

§  At least 5 years’ experience in a related field; such as EU or international sustainable finance policy and regulation, central banking or working on sustainable finance within a financial institution or relevant consultancy.

§  Deep understanding of the policy-making processes in the EU, particularly in relation to sustainable finance or the EU Green Deal.

§  Excellent collaboration skills and attitude: with a great capacity to listen and to seek advice from a wide range of people.

§  Ability to follow through with smart and adaptive implementation plans.

§  Attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks.

§  Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.

§  Excellent command of the English language (both spoken and written), spanish would be a plus.
