Metering Specialist for our project in Maputo, Mozambique

Our Company:

GWIC is a global consulting company providing Engineering Consulting Services. With offices in Angola, Brazil, Costa Rica and Portugal, the company has a permanent staff of about 70 professionals and affiliated representations in Mozambique and São Tomé and Príncipe.

Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Metering Specialist to join our team for our ongoing project in Maputo, Mozambique.

The candidate’s role will include providing technical support and expertise for metering engineering including operation, design and project development, installing, managing, and maintaining metering systems, across Water Utilities operating facilities. He will also be responsible for providing technical guidance on high priority metering systems issues. The candidate should be able to develop an efficient pre-paid and post-paid meter management strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

·           Metering System Management: Take charge of installing, managing, and maintaining metering systems across the water utility's operational facilities. This includes overseeing the operation, design, and development of metering engineering projects.

·           Provide technical guidance and expertise on metering systems, addressing high-priority issues efficiently. This involves troubleshooting problems, implementing solutions, and ensuring the reliability and accuracy of metering equipment.

·           Develop and implement an efficient pre-paid and post-paid meter management strategy tailored to the needs of the water utility project. This includes assessing metering requirements, optimizing system performance, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

·           Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of metering systems with other utility operations. Communicate effectively with team members, management, and contractors to coordinate metering activities and address any challenges that may arise.

Qualifications:

·           Must hold a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electronics Engineering or equivalent.

·           Must have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in the field of metering systems.

·           Experiences in water network zoning & Water auditing of areas of high losses.

·           Experiences in Metering accuracy, monitoring and unauthorized consumption control Meter management, accuracy and calibration.

·           Handle international contracts, ensuring adherence to FIDIC conditions and other contractual frameworks.

·           Familiarity with field instrument types and applications is essential.
