We are applying for the project: Advisory Services to establish and implement a Blue Economy project in Kenya, Tanzania, and Mozambique.

We are currently looking for an expert to cover the National Blue Economy expert in Mozambique position:

Experience requested: 

  • University degree (e.g., ‘master’s or German Diplom’) in Economics or Political Science or in any other relevant field of relevance to the BE. 
  • Knowledge of English, C1 level in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. 
  • 5 years proven experience in programme management in the fields of the BE in Mozambique  (small-scale fisheries, aquaculture, tourism, salt production, waste management and recycling and coastal resource management). 
  • 5 years knowledge and professional experience in projects funded by international organisations with focus on the BE
  • 5 years of professional experience in Mozambique
  • 4 years of experience in development cooperation projects.

Tasks to be performed by the candidate: 

  • Planning, management, and implementation of the BE portfolio of activities in the country under the supervision of the team leader.
  • Assist with the preparation of background material and presentations for the country specific intervention on BE.
  • Assist with the identification and promotion of BE Initiatives.
  • Monitor the BE work plans and prepare the related progress reports in close coordination with the GIZ WE4D M&E team.
  • The expert can co-use GIZ office space in Maputo or Beira and is expected to work remotely to cover all identified areas of implementation in Mozambique.
