UNDP is helping Bangladesh meet its Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. The Communications team is responsible for expanding and enhancing UNDP Bangladesh visibility, online presence and promoting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 

Duties and Responsibilities

UNDP Bangladesh is seeking a Digital Engagement and Outreach Wizard to join the dynamic team. As a Digital Engagement and Outreach Wizard, she/he will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to enhance UNDP Bangladesh's digital presence and effectively engage with the target audience. The role will involve leveraging various digital platforms, including social media, websites, and other online channels, to promote the UNDP brand, programmes, projects, and campaigns. 

The Digital Engagement and Outreach Wizard will be responsible for the following main tasks, but not limited to, under the guidance of the Head of communications:

  • Lead overall digital engagement strategy and implementation to increase UNDP Bangladesh brand awareness.
  • Develop and implement digital outreach strategies for external and community engagement, including government, development partners, media and mass people.
  • Manage and offer assistance for digital campaigns conducted by various projects within UNDP Bangladesh.
  • Create compelling content for social media posts, blogs, newsletters, and other digital channels.
  • Monitor and analyse digital metrics and KPIs to optimise engagement and outreach efforts.
  • Collaborate with social media influencers and goodwill ambassador to ensure wider reach.
  • Identify opportunities for partnerships, collaborations, and outreach initiatives to expand the digital presence.Work with vendors and individual consultants to create digital content like reels, infographics, games etc. 
  • Stay up-to-date with trends and best practices in digital engagement and outreach.
  • Address specific requests from the Resident Representative, Deputy Resident Representative, and cluster heads.

The incumbent performs other duties within their functional profile as deemed necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization.

Institutional Arrangement:

The incumbent will report directly to the Head of Communications.

Required Skills and Experience
Education:
  • Secondary Education is required. OR
  • University Degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing or related field would be given due consideration, but it is not a requirement. 
Experience:
  • Minimum of 6 years (with high school diploma) or 3 years (with bachelor’s degree) of relevant communications experience preferably providing communication packages at the national level to promote the activities of an international development organization. 
Required Skills:
  • Experience in the basic use of computers and relevant office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and ability to use web-based management and electronic log, file and/or scheduling systems.
Desired Skills:
  • Experience in Editing and writing English/Bangla language content
  • Relevant experience in Creating content using different cutting-edge technologies
  • Experience in organizing events 
  • Experience in running social media campaigns with impact 
  • Experience in working with social media influencers 
Language:
  • Fluency in English and Bangla is required.
