MAGENTA’s programme team operates across middle east on a range of projects that include research, strategy development, SBC intervention implementation, and evaluation. We currently operate in countries Iraq, Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon and Tunis. We are looking for exceptional individuals to join this team, driven by a keen desire to deliver social impact and who thrive in fast-paced environments.
Primary responsibilities of the programme officer are the following (1) Monitoring and Evaluation Framework Development, (2) Data Collection and Analysis, (3) Reporting and Documentation, (4) Capacity Building and Technical Support, (5) Collaboration and Coordination.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The M&E officer will report to the Programme Manager. Typical tasks include:
Monitoring and Evaluation Framework Development
- Design and implement a comprehensive M&E framework for the SBC programme aimed at preventing Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence.
- Develop M&E plans, including indicators, data collection methods, and timelines aligned with the programme's objectives.
- Ensure that the M&E framework integrates both components of the programme: strategic communications and youth empowerment.
Data Collection and Analysis
- Oversee the collection of quantitative and qualitative data related to the programme’s impact on gender-based violence prevention and youth empowerment.
- Analyze data to assess the effectiveness and reach of the strategic communications campaign and youth empowerment activities.
- Identify trends, gaps, and areas for improvement based on data insights.
Reporting and Documentation
- Prepare regular M&E reports detailing progress against indicators, challenges, and success stories.
- Document lessons learned and best practices to inform future programming.
- Ensure that all reports and documentation are completed in a timely and accurate manner, and shared with relevant stakeholders.
Capacity Building and Technical Support
- Provide training and technical support to project staff and partners on M&E processes and tools.
- Build the capacity of the project team to conduct M&E activities, ensuring a participatory approach.
- Assist in the development and refinement of tools and methodologies for effective monitoring and evaluation.
Collaboration and Coordination
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, Development Studies, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
Experience:
- At least 3-5 years of experience in Monitoring and Evaluation, preferably within SBC programmes or in the field of gender-based violence prevention.
- Demonstrated experience in designing M&E frameworks, data collection tools, and conducting data analysis.
- Strong experience as a trainer/facilitator, and ability to mentor other trainers and facilitators.
- Solid understanding of project management cycle.
- Experience working on USG programming strongly preferred.
- In-depth understanding of the Iraqi civil society landscape.
- Substantial knowledge of the international development and/or humanitarian system and institution and donors in Iraq.
- Technological and software fluency.
Language:
- Excellent proficiency in English, Arabic, and Kurdish is required.
